What is a skill? Skills are instructions that teach AI assistants like Claude Code how to perform specific tasks. The description below is loaded into the AI as context when you invoke this skill. Well-written skills make the AI significantly more effective. Like Wikipedia, anyone can improve a skill by clicking Edit AI Skill — or have your AI submit an edit on your behalf.

Description

Edit AI Skill

Wiki Editing

Adom Wiki is community-editable, like Wikipedia. Any skill, molecule, library, or documentation page can be improved by any user.

Manual Editing

  1. Navigate to any page
  2. Click Edit AI Skill (for skills) or the edit button (for other pages)
  3. Make your changes in the markdown editor
  4. Submit — your edit enters a review queue
  5. Once approved, it becomes live content

AI-Assisted Editing

You can ask Claude Code to improve skills directly:

  • "Improve the JLCPCB skill to handle category search"
  • "Fix the footprint-creator skill for QFN pads"
  • "Add thermal pad guidance to the PCB design skill"

Claude Code can read the current skill content, draft improvements, and submit edits on your behalf.

Writing Good Skills

  • Be specific and actionable — avoid vague instructions
  • Include code examples with actual file paths
  • Define expected inputs and outputs
  • Test with Claude Code before submitting
  • Keep content focused — a skill should do one thing well

Examples:

  • A manufacturer’s configuration tool for a motor controller
  • A community-written design guide for an amplifier circuit
  • An automated test/validation script for a sensor module

How to add one: Click Add Sub-Skill, provide the URL to your skill and a brief description. Submissions are reviewed by the Adom team before going live.
