An Adom molecule breakout for the Texas Instruments TXS0108E, an 8-bit bidirectional voltage-level translator. Designed for the Adom machine-pin ecosystem with medium-pitch contacts.

Overview

The TXS0108E translates 8 channels bidirectionally between two voltage domains (VCCA: 1.2–3.6 V, VCCB: 1.65–5.5 V). This molecule breaks out all 8 data channels plus power and OE to Adom machine-pin contacts for plug-in use on baseboard layouts.

Design Notes

  • Bypass caps (C3, C4) are 100 nF ceramic on both VCCA and VCCB rails, placed close to the IC
  • OE pull-up (R5) is 100 kΩ to VCCB — output enable defaults to active (high) so the level shifter is always on unless OE is driven low
  • Bidirectional auto-direction sensing — no direction pin needed; the TXS0108E detects which side is driving
  • Machine pin contacts use the medium-pitch Adom contact system for plug-in integration with baseboards
