âš¡ Install this molecule

Paste this into Claude Code (VS Code panel, Adom editor, or terminal) to install:

Search the Adom Wiki for the molecule "Jason LED Nameplate" (slug: jason-led-nameplate) at https://wiki-ufypy5dpx93o.adom.cloud/wiki/molecules/jason-led-nameplate. Download its symbol (.kicad_sym), footprint (.kicad_mod), and 3D model (.glb/.step) assets into my current KiCad project under symbols/, footprints/, and 3dmodels/ directories. Register them in the project library tables. Show me the files once installed.

A USB-C-powered desk decoration that spells JASON in green LEDs — twice the size of Scott's nameplate.

What's on the board

  • 160 × 76 mm Adom molecule (2× Scott's footprint)
  • ~56 green 0603 LEDs forming a 3×5 bitmap of each letter at 6 mm pixel pitch
  • One 300 Ω 0402 current-limit resistor per LED (≈10 mA each → ~560 mA / 2.8 W total)
  • USB-C TYPE-C-31-M-12 receptacle on the south edge (J1, JLCPCB C165948)
  • 5.1 kΩ CC pulldowns (R_CC1, R_CC2)
  • 10 µF X5R bulk decoupling cap (C_BULK)
  • 4 corner machine-contact pins (MC1–MC4) for workcell fixturing

Powering it

Plug any USB-C cable into the south edge — phone charger, laptop charger, anything 5 V. The letters light up.

How it was built

Authored in tscircuit (TSX, see source bundle). Published to the wiki with adom-tsci export-wiki so the live 3D viewer (orbit, x-ray, walkthrough) is embedded right on this page.

Designed by Adom in Fort Worth, Texas.

What are Sub-Skills?

Sub-skills are community-contributed AI skill extensions for this component. They teach AI assistants about specific tools, configurators, or workflows.

Examples:

  • A manufacturer’s configuration tool for a motor controller
  • A community-written design guide for an amplifier circuit
  • An automated test/validation script for a sensor module

How to add one: Click Add Sub-Skill, provide the URL to your skill and a brief description. Submissions are reviewed by the Adom team before going live.
