SOT-23-5

Package: SOT-23-5 Library: Package_TO_SOT_SMD Category: IC Package Pads: 5 Pitch: 0.95mm Body Size: 2.9 x 1.6mm Mounting: Surface Mount

Description

The SOT-23-5 extends the ubiquitous SOT-23 package from 3 to 5 pins, enabling a much wider range of ICs in the same tiny footprint. At 2.9 x 1.6mm with 0.95mm pitch, it is the standard package for low-dropout regulators (AP2112, MCP1700), voltage references (LM4040), single op-amps (MCP6001), comparators, analog switches, and small logic ICs. The extra two pins allow for input, output, enable, and ground on LDOs — the most common use case.

Usage Notes

  • Designed for reflow soldering (paste stencil recommended)
  • Pad size optimized for 0.95mm pitch components
  • Follow IPC-7351 land pattern guidelines

What are Sub-Skills?

Sub-skills are community-contributed AI skill extensions for this component. They teach AI assistants about specific tools, configurators, or workflows.

Examples:

  • A manufacturer’s configuration tool for a motor controller
  • A community-written design guide for an amplifier circuit
  • An automated test/validation script for a sensor module
