SOIC-16W (Wide Body)

Package: SOIC-16W_7.5x10.3mm_P1.27mm Library: Package_SO Category: IC Package Pads: 16 Pitch: 1.27mm Body Size: 7.5 x 10.3mm Mounting: Surface Mount

Description

The SOIC-16W is the wide-body variant of the 16-pin Small Outline IC package. At 7.5 x 10.3mm with 1.27mm pitch, it provides a wider body than the narrow SOIC-16 (3.9mm), offering better thermal performance and more internal die space. Standard package for RS-485 transceivers (MAX485), motor drivers (DRV8833), multi-channel ADCs/DACs, and power management ICs. The wide body also makes it easier to hand-solder and inspect compared to narrow-body variants.

Usage Notes

  • Designed for reflow soldering (paste stencil recommended)
  • Pad size optimized for 1.27mm pitch components
  • Follow IPC-7351 land pattern guidelines
