C_1210 (3225 Metric)

Package: C_1210_3225Metric Library: Capacitor_SMD Category: Passive Component Pads: 2 Pitch: N/A Body Size: 3.2 x 2.5mm Mounting: Surface Mount

Description

The 1210 (3225 Metric) is a larger SMD capacitor footprint at 3.2 x 2.5mm, primarily used for high-value multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC). Available in values up to 100µF at useful voltage ratings, it is the go-to size for bulk decoupling on digital ICs, input filtering on voltage regulators, and output capacitors on DC-DC converters. The larger body accommodates more ceramic layers for higher capacitance. Also used for high-current power inductors and precision resistors needing higher wattage.

Usage Notes

  • Designed for reflow soldering (paste stencil recommended)
  • Pad size optimized for standard components
  • Follow IPC-7351 land pattern guidelines
