Description
The barrel jack is the most common DC power input connector in consumer and industrial electronics. This horizontal-mount variant accepts standard 5.5mm outer / 2.1mm inner barrel plugs from wall adapters. Found on Arduino boards, routers, LED strips, and countless embedded systems. Three pins provide center-positive, ground, and switch-detect connections. The through-hole mounting provides excellent mechanical strength for frequent plug/unplug cycles. Rated for 5A at 12-24V in most variants.
Usage Notes
- Standard through-hole mounting with wave or hand soldering
- Drill sizes follow IPC-2222 specifications
- Compatible with standard 2.54mm breadboard pitch
